“I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe.”
As we focus on Jesus:
1. We have hope.
Hope is "an anchor" for our souls, giving us confidence in Christ (Hebrews 6:19).
2. We have true spiritual riches.
Our riches include redemption, forgiveness, wisdom, and purpose found only in Christ (Ephesians 1:7-14).
3. We have spiritual power.
We don't depend on our power because we can be “strong in the Lord and in his mighty power,” a power that raised Christ from the dead (Ephesians 6:10; Ephesians 1:18-20).
Therefore, dear Christians, with an understanding of our hope, riches, and power, "Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith" (Hebrews 12:1-2).
