There’s no shortage of “authorities” on marriage, child-rearing, career, values, priorities, finances, etc. They advise us in books, on television, on the internet, and in person.
Sometimes they're right, sometimes they're not. The only way we can know for sure is to compare their advice with the Bible.
The Bible is "God-breathed" which is why we can always trust it.
God's Word is fully trustworthy. It thoroughly equips us to face whatever life dishes out, and it thoroughly equips us to fulfill God's purposes for our lives (Ephesians 2:10).
In John 17:17, Jesus prays to His Father and says, "Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth."
God's Word sets us apart and purifies us. Let's never underestimate its importance. When we need guidance, let's go to the authority we can always trust—the Bible!
