Keep On Keepin' On

Joseph kept hitting walls preventing him from freedom, but he never gave up on his dream because of this principle. #BibleLoveNotes #Biblestudy

Joseph kept hitting walls:
  • Sold into slavery by his heartless brothers (Genesis 37
  • Thrown into prison because of a lying woman (Genesis 39
  • Forgotten by the cup-bearer (Genesis 40

When most of us hit walls, we think God must be against us and often we give up, get bitter, or wallow in self-pity. Joseph may have felt like giving up, too, but not for long. He knew God had purposes for his life, and he accepted the walls as part of God’s purposes.

Joseph kept on keepin' on even when walls stood directly in the path of God’s purposes.

The Bible talks about this quality when it says “it is commendable if a man bears up under the pain of unjust suffering because he is conscious of God” (1 Peter 2:19).

Have you hit a wall in your life? If so, don’t let it knock you off your feet…get up, think of the God who loves you deeply, and keep on keepin' on.

  4. Great post! A quote I love about hitting walls is by Randy Pausch - he said "Brick walls are there for a reason. The brick walls are not there to keep us out. The brick walls are there to show how badly we want something." I know it's not a Bible verse but your post made me think of that quote. :) (PS thanks for linking up at CEO of Me's Motivating Monday!)

  5. I love this verse. I keep a supply of verses like this one marked in my Bible, because dealing with chronic pain has proven to me the importance inspiring scripture can have in my daily life. Thanks for sharing!
