For forty-nine years and six months, voters in the U.S. were denied the right to limit abortion. Since the Supreme Court overruling in June 2022, we no longer have to grieve the Roe v. Wade anniversary every January.
Proabortion advocates, however, continue to tell the same lies.
All U.S. pro-life laws, past and present, allowed abortion to save the life of the mother (source), and modern medicine has made such abortions virtually unnecessary (source).
But proabortion advocates have continually claimed that limiting abortion risks a woman's life:
"Any ban on access to abortion is extreme, period. It risks a woman's life and is an attack on her most fundamental rights." Rachel Sussman, national director of state policy and advocacy at Planned Parenthood Federation of America, underlining mine
After Roe was overturned, proabortion groups became even more deceptive, falsely claiming that overturning Roe would mean women would be denied medical care after miscarriages!
People all over the world are buckling under the pressure of proabortion propaganda. But Christians aren't motivated by popular opinion or personal approval. We're motivated by our love for Christ and our concern for unborn children and their parents.*
“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will” (Romans 12:1-2).

As early as 1873, the Comstock Law, which outlawed abortion, specifically stated it was allowed when the life of the mother was in danger. And pro-life groups support this exception. Why, then, do proabortion groups continue to use it as an argument? Because they don't have any legitimate reasons for keeping abortion legal.
* Pro-life groups have always been concerned with moms as well as babies. They are known for actively helping women with problem pregnancies, offering them physical and emotional help.
Anniversary: Roe v. Wade went into effect on January 22, 1973, and was overturned in June 2022, forty-nine years and six months later. Fifty years of protected abortion proved that abortion doesn't solve any of the problems it is supposed to solve. For example, some people claim that the lack of abortions causes more unwanted and abused children in foster care. However, foster care stats are unrelated to abortion. Official data shows a consistent increase in foster care beginning in 2012 when Roe was still in effect (source).
