Romans 12 is a chapter full of wonderful truths. For example, verses 4-8 talk about our unity of purpose, diversity of function, and membership in God's family.
When talking about the way Christians function together, Paul frequently uses the analogy of the body (1 Corinthians 12; Ephesians 4). In fact, "the body of Christ" is a common name for the Church.
Our physical body functions as one unit, but the parts are very different. The body of Christ also functions as one unit, but each person has specific skills and purposes.
We should be developing and using our skills while appreciating the skills and purposes of others.
"For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us..." Romans 12:4-8
