Hang in There!

Are you dealing with a temporary trial or a lifelong challenge … a problem in relationships, finances, career, or health?

Consider these three principles from Hebrews 12:1-2:  

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.

1. Remember the example of other believers ("a great cloud of witnesses") who persevered in hard times. Imagine them cheering you on and giving you hope that you can do the same.

If you're tempted to give up, recite 1 Corinthians 10:13.

2. Get rid of sins and distractions ("everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles"), having a single-minded purpose to serve Christ no matter what. 

Memorize Philippians 3:12.

3. Focus on Jesus ("the pioneer, author, source, champion, perfecter, and finisher of our faith."), gaining strength from His example and power from His Spirit.

Remember your source of strength (Philippians 4:13).
