Worth Every Minute!
As a new believer, I was excited to read God’s Word each day. I was addicted in the best sense of the word.
I hungered for fellowship with others who knew Jesus was real and relevant. I faithfully attended my weekly Bible study and prayer group.
I was a young mother with two little ones under the age of 2 years, both in diapers. My husband was a soldier with long duty hours. But time with Jesus was my priority.
Wow! First love is grand, isn’t it?
Forty-five years later, I love Jesus even more, but I need to discipline myself to prioritize time with Him.
Otherwise, I let other things get in the way.
But I’m in this for the long haul.
He’s my Lord, my Savior, my Way, Truth, and Life.
I want to know Him better (Philippians 3:10).
I want to please Him (Ephesians 5:10).
I want to shine for Him (Matthew 5:16; Ephesians 5:8).
He is worthy of my best (Matthew 10:38).
Can I get an “Amen!”?
I am so happy that I read this . . . I could have written it. My first bible is totally worn out from reading it, that's when I was in my honeymoon years with the Lord. Now I love Him more, know Him better, but spend less time in His word. Thanks for reminding me . . . I need to get my priorities straight, too.

Amen!!! I always thought as I get older prioritizing would become easier! not so. It takes dedication and discipline!
ReplyDeleteAmen
ReplyDeleteAmen!! I've walked with Jesus for 56 years now and it only gets better. You've said it so well, Gail. Your concluding sentences are definitely my heart's desire, too. Thankfully, God graciously awakens me early each morning so I have time with Him in the Word before my day begins. He knows how difficult it would be for me to take out time otherwise. He is such a wonderful Lord!!
ReplyDeleteAMEN! I’m not alone!
