Help Me Want to Want What You Want, Lord

If it were up to me, I'd choose an easy life. 

But if I had an easy life, I'd never learn perseverance. I'd never learn how desperately I need the Lord.(1)

So this is my prayer: "God, I want to want what You want!"

These truths help me: 

1. God is able to do the impossible - to use bad situations for my good (Romans 8:28).

2. Earthly life is imperfect, but heaven is my future!
“In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world" ~ Jesus, John 16:33

3. Jesus is always with me (Hebrews 13:5-6).

4. He's the ultimate Comforter (2 Corinthians 1:3-5).

5. He can teach my heart to cooperate with His purposes - He can make me want what He wants (Philippians 2:12-13).
