Guilty in the First Degree or Acquitted

Did you know that God has an "Exit Plan" to prevent us from sinning? This 1-minute devotion explains. #BibleLoveNotes #Bible

Several years ago, I was called for jury duty. A man was charged with first-degree (premeditated) murder for killing another man in a knife fight.

The prosecutor explained that premeditated murder didn't have to include lengthy planning. Even if the decision to murder came shortly before the killing, it could still be considered premeditated.

This is true of all sin, not just murder. Sin can involve a lengthy process (James 1:14-15) or a short one.

But there's always one decision made in advance.

It's the decision to accept or refuse God's help.

"God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it."1 Corinthians 10:13

What a wonderful promise - an exit plan from God!

Let's make a premeditated choice to always take God's exit plan.
