Nothing Could Be More Central

Do you know the origin of the phrase "the crux of the matter"? It will bless you! #BibleLoveNotes #Bible #Biblestudy

The word crux comes from Latin for cross, and it means the main point or the heart of the matter.

Nothing could be more central, more critical, or more at the heart of life and death than the Cross.

When we become Christians:

1. We realize our sins have been nailed to the cross (Colossians 2:14).

2. Our boast is no longer in worldly things but in the cross that set us free (Galatians 6:13).

3. We realize that “the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.” 1 Corinthians 1:18 *

4. We become cross-carriers: Jesus says, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it. Luke 9:23

The Cross of Christ is central to all of history and it's also central to each believer's life.

✞✞✞✞✞✞✞

* When we try to incorporate worldly wisdom into our teaching, we are weakening the true gospel message of the cross (1 Corinthians 1:17)
