The list went viral a few years back--a list of things that will disappear during our lifetime.
The list varied a bit, but usually included these nine items that experts predict will disappear:
1. Post Offices
2. Checks
3. Newspapers
4. Books
5. Land-line phones
6. Music CDs
7. Television
8. Things we own—hard copies of photos, written records, videos
9. Privacy
It's interesting that most of these nine things involve words--written, spoken, sent, recorded and sung.
Ways of sending, recording, transmitting and storing words may change and disappear, but words are essential for life. And we'd all agree that not all words are created equal. Some will be gone next week and some will remain throughout history.
But the most valuable Word is described below:
For the word of God is full of living power. It is sharper than the sharpest knife, cutting deep into our innermost thoughts and desires. It exposes us for what we really are. Hebrews 4:12Alive, powerful, cutting through truth and error, revealing our hearts and God's heart ... eternal.
No matter how they are stored or transmitted, they are life-changing. Let's not let a day go by without enjoying God's wonderful Word!

I love your daily posts, Gail. I thought you would like to know that I tried to email this to a friend but each time I got this message: "404. That’s an error. That’s all we know."
ReplyDeleteThanks, Pam, for your encouragement.
DeleteIf you don't mind, could you tell me how you tried to email it? I'll try to see if I can work on the problem. If you email me at biblelovenotes @netzero. com, that would make it easier for me to get back to you. Thanks! Gail (I put spaces in the email here because putting a direct link can sometimes cause problems in a comment.)
