Which Yoke?

This is a difficult time in spiritual history, and we must be careful to take on Christ's "Yoke," not the world's Yoke. This 1-minute devotion explains. #BibleLoveNotes #Bible

1 John 5:3 is clear and succinct:

"This is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome."

In Matthew 11:28-30, Christ echoes that message, inviting us to take His yoke and learn His ways because His "yoke is easy and His burden is light.”

This is a difficult time in spiritual history, and we must be careful to take on Christ's "Yoke," not the world's Yoke. This 1-minute devotion explains. #BibleLoveNotes #Bible
The world wants us to believe it's easier to fit in, to tolerate sin, to be popular, rich and comfortable.

Satan works diligently to make us think God's loving, sweet, wise, life-changing commands are burdensome and even "hateful."

This is a difficult time in spiritual history, and we must constantly remind ourselves that we can't love Christ without obeying His commands, nor will we find true rest unless we take His yoke upon our shoulders.

If you feel yourself wavering, remember that the world's yoke may sound light but it leads to sin and slavery.

And Christ's yoke may sound heavy, but it leads away from error into eternal fields of joy.
