It's Friday, But Sunday's Comin'

We need to understand our present situation as Christians. This 1-minute devotion explains. #BibleLoveNotes #Bible

"It's Friday, but Sunday's coming."

This phrase, often spoken at Easter time, reminds us that Christ's horrible crucifixion resulted in His resurrection and ours.*

But it's also pertinent to our entire earthly life.

Everyone's life is marked to some degree by death - sickness, sadness, pain, suffering, and brokenness.

Adam and Eve invited death into God's creation when they chose sin and unbelief, and so have all of us. We're damaged by death, living in a world damaged by death (Genesis 3).

"We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies." Romans 8:22-24

It's Friday here on earth.

But Sunday's coming:
"I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us." Romans 8:18
