I’m an experienced mover having moved almost 40 times in my 60 years of life. But that doesn’t mean our moves have always gone smoothly.
One time we reserved a truck but when we arrived to pick it up, they said it wasn’t available, nor was there another truck available in the whole city that day!
Our situation seemed impossible.
In the Bible, the Israelites also faced an impossible situation as they stood between the Red Sea and the angry Egyptian army. But Psalm 77:19 tells us that God loves an impossible challenge.
“Your path led through the sea, your way through the mighty waters, though your footprints were not seen.”
God did something they couldn’t imagine—He parted the Red Sea.
In our "impossible" situation, God sent an unexpected visitor, a friend with an empty truck headed in the same direction we needed to move!

ReplyDeleteI know that God has always found me the way in the past, I need to give him more credit for that, and more faith that he will do so again.
Perfect timing. =) We are in an "Isrealite" type situation. Our "big truck" moving day is on Friday, but the weather is predicting rain and snow on Wed. and Thurs. =( We have to do some of our moving for smaller things on those days, too. We are moving to the country and it seems there is always mud around anyway. We're praying for dry weather and dry ground! The weather and the natural elements listen to God, so I'm not too worried about the what the weather person says. =)

ReplyDelete30 years I've waiting for God to part the sea before me. Still standing on the shore. How long does one keep putting themself through this?

DeleteGod doesn't answer every prayer the way we wish He would. Some situations depend on the freewill of sinful people who do not listen to the Lord. Other situations continue despite our prayers for reasons only God knows.
Sometimes God's answer is "no" because He knows things we don't.
I don't know what your specific request is, but I encourage you to keep praying unless you feel God prompting you to pray in another direction.
God works differently in different situations and at different times. The situation in this story happened to me, but, as I said at the beginning of the devotion, things don't always go smoothly. My difficulties have not always been resolved in this way. It's not a formula. It's a ways God sometimes works.
