You Can't Argue with Success, or Can You?

You can't argue with success, or can you? This 1-minute devotion offers 3 ways Biblical success differs from worldly success. #BibleLoveNotes #Bible

"You can't argue with success."

This popular statement is sometimes true, sometimes not.

We can argue with success when it's based on false motives, unethical practices, or poor values.

But when success is based on godly values, that's different.

When God asks us to do something and we do it to the best of our ability with a sincere heart, it may actually appear that we've failed, when we haven't.

Let me explain: the prophet Jeremiah was a faithful servant of God and he successfully fulfilled God's purposes for his life. But he was more often ignored or despised than affirmed and believed.

For example, in Jeremiah 7, God commanded Jeremiah to speak a strong rebuke and warning against the people, but God told him:

"When you tell them all this, they will not listen to you."

We see the same message in Ezekiel 2:7 where God tells Ezekiel, "You must speak my words to them, whether they listen or fail to listen."

Spiritual success isn't based on results; It's based on faithfulness in:

1. Seeking God's Kingdom first (Matthew 6:33).

2. Conforming to God's ways and understanding what pleases Him (Romans 12:2).

3. Speaking His truth without compromise even when we are persecuted, insulted, or rejected (Matthew 5:10-12).

Men may call us unsuccessful, but God will call us faithful.

I hope you'll read High Five, Jeremiah! for more encouragement to speak God's Truth boldly and without compromise.
