Pot or Potter?

This 1-minute devotion challenges us with an important question. Pot or Potter, which do you think you are? #BibleLoveNotes #Bible

Do you allow God to upset your human understanding, human reasoning, and human sinfulness?

When I became a Christ-follower, God upset my lifestyle, convicting me about my thoughts, my speech, and my attitudes. He also prompted me to get rid of books and record albums (yes, that was during the time of vinyl). The process was hard and wonderful and continues to this day.

Many people are unchanged by their god because he's a creation of their imagination. Their god changes according to popular opinion, has no expectations, no commands, and no righteous justice.

But no one changes the Living God. He changes us (Isaiah 29:16; Isaiah 64:8).

"In view of God’s mercy ...offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God ... Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will." Romans 12:1-2

I am so grateful He changes me and I'm so glad I can't change Him.

  1. I chuckled when I read "When I became a Christ-follower, He upset my lifestyle, cleaning out my bookcase, my thoughts, my speech and my heart. The process was hard and wonderful and continues to this day." Those words so could have been mine! I remember well the DAY I asked Jesus to take over my life and walked into our house after church. It was like going from black and white to technicolor! He really opened my eyes to just what I had been filling my mind and heart with!
