Are You Neglecting "Inner Beauty" and "Spiritual Exercise"?

Most folks concentrate on external beauty and exercise than on their inner beauty and "spiritual exercise." This devotion explains.

It's far more important to overcome bitterness, selfishness, impatience, and self-pity than to hide a blemish on our skin. And it's far more important to strengthen our spiritual muscles than to build our physical muscles.

Sadly, the average person cares more about their external looks than they care about the condition of their hearts.

But God tells us that a man's heart is more important than his appearance, height, or stature; and a woman's gentle and quiet spirit is worth more than her outward adornment (1 Samuel 16:71 Peter 3:3-4).

In addition, "physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come" (1 Timothy 4:8).

We have limited control over our external appearance, but we have great control over our inner beauty. So let's make sure we're reshaping our wrinkled thoughts with prayer and strengthening our spiritual muscles with Bible study so we can fulfill God's purposes (Ephesians 2:10).
