Seniors Getting Cosmetic Surgery

We need to gain God's perspective on beauty. this 1-minute devotion shares some scary trends and Scriptural truths. #BibleLoveNotes #Bible #Aging

Several years ago I read about a woman in her 80's who had breast implants for strictly cosmetic reasons. She said she planed to live long and wanted her children to be proud of her appearance.

According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, “Breast lifts, face-lifts, liposuction, and other cosmetic surgery procedures are increasingly common among seniors.” (CBS News source)

Sadly, our culture has become so fixated on outward appearance that we've underestimated inner beauty. When we go to be with the Lord, our children or grandchildren will remember us for our faith, kindness, and personality more than our figure, fashion, or wrinkle-free faces.

Nothing’s wrong with wanting to be attractive, as long as we put it in perspective and realize that as we age, physical beauty will fade but inner qualities will magnify.

Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. Proverbs 31:30

Instead of seeking to impress people with our looks, let's seek to inspire them with our love for Christ.

Note: There are reasons to get plastic surgery at any age to correct damage caused by birth defects, accidents, illness, and/or surgery. This devotion is discussing plastic surgery for strictly cosmetic reasons.

  3. I want my children (and grandchildren) to rise up and call me blessed because my character is like Jesus...not because I look like a super model at age 83. Nothing wrong with her CHOICE, but it is not a way I would use my money, for sure. Thanks for sharing this on Domestically Divine link-up today.

    who have recently gotten the
    Mommy Makeover

    aka
    tummy tuck
    and breast augmentation

    and i wonder

  6. The 10% was for the Israelites. We are to give "all". After all, it is all His anyway. I give what the Spirit leads and always give a portion of every thing I make. And if I am led to give a certain amount then I stand to that. And not only money but I give of my time and my God given talents to His work.
