I just want to say, if you're going to target my blog to dupe me into something, at lease use proper grammar!

There are, sadly, many Christians who do sound like spammers. They are the ones who's only answer to questions or opposition is to quote a bible verse. This neither teaches anyone anything or is enough to convince a non-believer to consider the faith. These Christians frustrate me to know end because such a response is a cop out, and quite frankly, lazy. I LOVED your answer to Anonymous. You used scientific facts, and recorded historical references to defend your faith position. Definately NOT spam. And kudos to you for such a ladylike response to such an unnecessarily harsh comment! I am freely expressing what has happened in my own life and the lives of millions of others throughout history--the encounter with the Living God, Jesus.

REGARDING THE VALIDITY OF THE BIBLE: Men of great intelligence, men of science and literature, professionals and educators have believed in the Bible. I would encourage you to take a look at this list of 100 great scientists who believed the Bible found here: http://www.unmaskingevolution.com/29-100_scientists.htm

REGARDING THE SUPPRESSION OF WOMEN: Jesus exalted women to a position of equality with men, something unheard of in His time of life on earth. And, as a woman, I am assured in Scripture that I am equal to men, valuable, loved and able to receive the same rewards as any man. You are speaking about the Bible and Christianity from some kind of second-hand knowledge or by taking verses out of context.

REGARDING ADAM AND EVE: I believe that they did populate the earth. I can't prove it, obviously...it is based on my faith. But neither can you prove your absolute statement of faith that they "did not populate the earth." You have your faith and I have mine...neither is scientifically proven.

REGARDING THE FLAT EARTH:
Early church fathers and theologians formed the largest group of individuals who advanced and supported the spherical earth view. In fact, Christian scholars are credited with some of the best explanations of the spherical earth in ancient and Middle Age literature. Furthermore, the support of a spherical earth was maintained throughout Christian history. Thomas Aquinas (1225-1274), a widely-read theologian of his time, believed in the spherical earth and wrote as if it was the commonly accepted belief among his readers. And early European missionaries spread the spherical earth view along with the Gospel. The Chinese held a flat earth theory until the 17th century when Catholic Jesuit astronomers convinced the Chinese otherwise. This myth about flat-earth Christians seems to have its origins in the book The Life and Voyages of Christopher Columbus written by Washington Irving in 1828. Irving (who was no fan of Christianity) was a highly regarded historian and novelist, but he completely fictionalized portions of this book and presented Christians during the time of Columbus as "flat earth" believers.

So, my Anonymous friend, to quote you, I think you "need to do some honest research and stop preaching what you have been brainwashed to believe. It's okay to use your own brains--I promise."

GailGail @ http://biblelovenotes.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17462629145629813283noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2538057051911243767.post-78827280396742913762012-08-25T10:24:11.403-04:002012-08-25T10:24:11.403-04:00Except you DO sound like Spammers. Not only that, ...Except you DO sound like Spammers. Not only that, but youre trying to sell something invisable, ancient, and moot. Anyone with even the least amount of intelligence knows that the bible is a fictional work written by men thousands of years ago in order to supress women, make them subservent, and demean them. Adam and Eve did not populate the earth (if they did, it means Eve procreated with one or both her sons, as they only had two male children) - the world is not flat - there are not now nor have there ever been any unicorns. You all really need to do some honest research and stop preaching what you have been brainwashed to believe. Its ok to use your own brains - I PROMISE.
