I'm Grieved. Are Christians Reading 1 Corinthians 6:14-17?

Dear Christians, it's so important during this time in history that we understand 2 Corinthians 6:14-17:

“Do not be yoked together with unbelievers.… What fellowship can light have with darkness? What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? … What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: ‘I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.’ Therefore, ‘Come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.’”

 

Our world is filled with unbelief, darkness, and idolatry. We've been set apart and we must guard our hearts (1 Peter 2:9; Proverbs 4:23).

These recent examples of ungodly yoking should grieve our hearts:*

✓ Alistair Begg discredits American evangelicals because they don't agree with him about gay marriage celebrations.

✓ Dallas Jenkins admits much of his inspiration for The Chosen came from R-rated material.

✓ “Evangelicals for Harris” offers detailed info about Harris' platform without once mentioning abortion. 

✓ Republicans evoke pagan Sikh blessings at their convention. See my commentary on this: Pagan Chant Compromises Republican Convention.

We live in the midst of great deception, dear Christians (2 Corinthians 4:4). The only way we'll survive is by being on our guard, standing firm, speaking truth, and refusing to accept, excuse, or partner with worldly sins (1 John 2:15-17; 1 Corinthians 16:13; Ephesians 5:11-12).

Note on 2 Corinthians 6:14-18: In the Old Testament Belial was used to mean “without profit; worthlessness; wickedness,” referring to things associated with paganism, but Paul uses it to represent Satan (source). And please read verse 18 as well!
