#6: Blessed are the Pure in Heart

Matthew 5 says the pure in heart will see God. This 1-minute devotion explains what that means. #BibleLoveNotes #Bible

Blessed are the pure in 💗,
for they will see God.

No one is perfect, but those with pure 💗s deliberately seek to have pure thoughts, desires, and motives. They're sensitive to the conviction of the Holy Spirit, wanting to please the Lord (Ephesians 5:9-10).

They devote themselves to biblical truth, not distorted teachings or worldly philosophies (1 Timothy 1:3-5).

Every Christian is commanded to be pure in ðŸ’— (1 Thessalonians 4:7; 1 John 3:2-3).

Those with pure 💗s "see God" because they have a more accurate view of God’s character (Hebrews 12:14), which enables them to “see” beyond the temporary and realize the eternal value of things in life (2 Corinthians 4:18).

Pure 💗s long for the time when they will see Jesus face-to-face and perfectly understand His purity and love for them (1 Corinthians 13:12; Revelation 22:3-5).

Blessed are the pure in ðŸ’—.

Take a moment and read Philippians 3:7-21 which reveals the passionate desires of a man with a pure 💗. Let's reflect on these verses this week and ask God to give us purer hearts.

Note: The linked passages talk about holiness and purity. Their meanings are different but they "overlap." Purity in the Greek means separated, clean, and purged of sinful influences. Holiness in the Greek means being "different" and set apart to God, having a likeness to the character of God. Holiness includes purity but goes beyond it.
