Universal Salvation is a mockery of grace and justice.
This is the second in a 4 part series on the errors of Universal Salvation. It's vitally important that we understand how this heresy violates Scripture and the character of God.
Does that mean that God is not completely just? Does he break the rules for us?
No.
The full price for our sins is paid. By Jesus.
God is perfectly, thoroughly, completely, sacrificially just.
We believe and receive.
Universal Salvation asks God to deny His justice and save unrepentant men who reject Christ’s sacrifice.
That’s something He can’t do (2 Thessalonians 1:6-10).
Some folks say a "good" God would never send men to hell. But I've never heard anyone say that a "good" judge never sends men to jail.
We don't want criminals on our streets, but we're fine if unrepentant, unbelievers walk the streets of gold with us. Would that really be heaven?
Such arguments are foolish (Ephesians 5:6).
I’m so glad that we have a gracious, loving heavenly Father who has made a way for foolish souls like us to be saved and all He asks is that we believe.
If we care about the eternity of unsaved men and women, we will not deceive them by claiming there is no hell (Ephesians 5:5-6). We'll encourage them to repent and turn to the only God who can give them eternal life (Matthew 10:28).

I love the comparison here. It's so very true. Thank you Gail for everything you do! May God continue to bless you!
ReplyDeleteYES ! PRAISE THE LORD ! SOMEONE WHO IS OBEDIENT TO OUR LORD AND SAVIOR, JESUS CHRIST, TO TELL IT LIKE IT REALLY IS. NO SUGAR COATING AND FRET OR FEAR OF MAN'S THOAUGHT ! RIGHT OUT OF THE BIBLE, WHICH OF COURSE IS GODS OWN WORDS ! GOD BLESS YOU SISTER LADY . FOR SHARING... STAY WONDERFULLY BLESSED!
ReplyDeleteI believe in universal salvation! We take the first part of the verse “For as in Adam, ALL die” but refuse to take the second part of the verse “Even so in Christ shall ALL be made alive” SAME ALL. Giving belief to hell as a burning, eternal place of torment does not make Christ/God surpreme. It gives Satan the victory.
ReplyDeleteThere will be punishment for those who don’t except Christ in their lifetime, but NOT ETERNAL. Where is God’s glory in that? It also does not allow for those who never hear of Christ’s saving work on the cross...
Never had a missionary, died with no knowledge, died before Christ (ancient people) and I believe God loves them as much as me. He created them too. Are they not saved? According to mainstream Christianity, no. So thankful that belief in Universal Reconciliation allows me to give God ALL THE GLORY!
Hi Barb,
DeleteYour explanation is contrary to Scripture on so many levels:
1. You are basing your belief on a few passages taken out of context and ignoring major teachings in Scripture.
2. Hell does not make Satan supreme. It does just the opposite. What would make Satan supreme would be people who reject Christ spending eternity with people who love Him. Also, Satan will be burning in hell himself, so how does that make him supreme?
3. Regarding your claim about non-Christians suffering earthly punishment: Some godly missionaries are tortured to death. Some evil child rapists live happy lives, never feel bad for what they've done and are never arrested. Some godly people live in poverty and suffer great hardships despite their love for God. Some evil people live in luxury and pleasure their whole lives and have no concern for others. Can I just say that your statement is ridiculous. And the fact that the earth is unjust and unfair is the reason that God has created Heaven and Hell. He hates evil and He gives men an opportunity to repent.
4. God will fairly judge those who never hear the Gospel. He knows every thought, the number of hairs on our heads, and everything else about us. He will not send genuine seekers to Hell. He will either send someone to tell them what they need to hear, whether an angel or a missionary or He will handle it in some other perfect way. We cannot know for certainty how He handles this situation because the Bible doesn't tell us.
5. Everything God does is perfect and He makes it very clear that He is going to send people who reject Him to Hell. And we are not His judges. He is ours.
You can believe what you want, but your belief contradicts God's Words.
Barb,
DeleteLet me show you just a few of the passages that clearly explain that God will send men to Hell:
Matthew 5:29:
If your right eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.
Matthew 7:13:
Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.
Matthew 10:28:
Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.
Matthew 16:26-27:
What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul? 27 For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father’s glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what they have done.
Matthew 23:33-34:
You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell? 34 Therefore I am sending you prophets and sages and teachers. Some of them you will kill and crucify; others you will flog in your synagogues and pursue from town to town.
Luke 12:4-5:
I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. 5 But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after your body has been killed, has authority to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him.
2 Thessalonians 1:6-10:
God is just: He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you 7 and give relief to you who are troubled, and to us as well. This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with his powerful angels. 8 He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. 9 They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might 10 on the day he comes to be glorified in his holy people and to be marveled at among all those who have believed. This includes you, because you believed our testimony to you.
Jude 1:7:
In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire.
2 Peter 2:4-9:
For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them to hell, putting them in chains of darkness to be held for judgment; 5 if he did not spare the ancient world when he brought the flood on its ungodly people, but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness, and seven others; 6 if he condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by burning them to ashes, and made them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly; 7 and if he rescued Lot, a righteous man, who was distressed by the depraved conduct of the lawless 8 (for that righteous man, living among them day after day, was tormented in his righteous soul by the lawless deeds he saw and heard)— 9 if this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials and to hold the unrighteous for punishment on the day of judgment.
Revelation 20:14-15:
Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. 15 Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.
