Christmas is About Family - Remember the Persecuted

Christmas is About Family - Remember Your Persecuted Brothers and Sisters in Christ

We’d never spent a Christmas away from all of our family members until my husband and I moved to Budapest to do Christian work. When our first Christmas drew near, I anticipated a sad, lonely holiday.

I was wrong.

Christmas is About Family - Remember Your Persecuted Brothers and Sisters in ChristWe invited all of the Christians we knew who had nowhere to go…single missionaries and international college students as well as ex-pats and missionary friends.

It was warm and wonderful…a real family time…the family of God, that is. As brothers and sisters from around the world, we celebrated the most important birthday in our family…a birthday that resulted in our own re-birthdays.

When you celebrate Christmas this year, remember your family throughout the world. And say a prayer for those who are lonely, suffering, and persecuted.

“in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.”  Romans 12:5
