Prophetic Whispers

Take a look at a few of the "clues" God placed in the Old Testament to tell us about the coming Messiah, Jesus. #BibleLoveNotes #Devotion

God has given us ample reason to believe in Jesus.

Christ fulfilled hundreds of Old Testament prophecies ... beyond what any human mind could orchestrate. And every prophecy was a whisper from God, calling us to believe.

In addition, God foreshadowed Christ's life in the lives of some of the Old Testament saints.

For example:
  • Moses was born to deliver God’s people from slavery in Egypt.
  • Christ was born to deliver God’s people from slavery to sin.
  • Satan inspired Pharaoh to kill male Jewish babies, hoping to get rid of the deliverer Moses.
  • Satan inspired Herod to kill male Jewish babies, hoping to get rid of the Deliverer Jesus.
  • But God’s plans always prevail: Moses and Jesus fulfilled God’s loving purposes and rescued God's people.
  • (Deuteronomy 18:15; Acts 3:22)
These whispers of Jesus are sprinkled throughout the Old Testament, preparing our hearts for our Savior and His mission.

Let's rejoice in these whispers and the songs of joy they brought into our lives.
----------

Colossians 2:16-17 explains that God whispered messages about Christ in the Old Testament holy day celbrations.
Hebrews 10:1-18 explains that God whispered messages about Christ in the Old Testament law and sacrifices.
1 Corinthians 10:1-4 explains that God whispered messages about Christ when the Israelites received water from the rock.
