“Faith isn't a pill we take. It's a muscle we use.” Unknown
We’re not saved so we can sit back and enjoy life. We’re saved so we can “work out."
"Work out your salvation with fear and trembling” (Philippians 2:12-13).
Strong Christians get daily exercise in Bible study and prayer, enjoy team workouts at the gym (fellowship), and are actively involved in the work of God. Only through "constant use" can we turn our weak, baby muscles into strong, adult muscles (Hebrews 5:13-14). But this takes serious planning (i.e. "fear and trembling").
We have career plans, exercise plans, savings plans, even plans for cleaning our house. But most of us have no plan for strengthening, exercising and using our spiritual muscles.
Today let’s make a serious "spiritual exercise plan."
