Souvenir Stands of Life

Matthew 6:31-33, spiritual souvenir stands, Treasure in heaven
Souvenir stands selling cheap items are a common site in tourist areas. Sometimes purchases break before making it home.

It takes more effort to find quality handicrafts when traveling.

There are "souvenir stands" in life as well, and sometimes we spend ourselves at those stands and have nothing left for things that matter. Some spend their virginity or their conscience, others their time and devotion, others their words and feelings.

Souvenir stands are flashy, easy, convenient. They grab our attention.

"Why do you spend money on what cannot nourish you and your wages on what does not satisfy you?" Isaiah 55:2 (GWT)

Let’s take time today to ask God if we're spending our hearts and our resources on things that don’t nourish our souls. May we move past the cheap souvenir stands to Kingdom treasures handmade by our Lord (Matthew 6:31-33).

  3. Wow it's so true. Souvenirs don't last long and rarely are valuable. Thanks for pointing us to what God holds dearly!
