An Essential Ingredient

Whether we are punishing a child, reconciling with a friend, or celebrating a holiday, there is one ingredient we must always add. This 1-minute devotion explains. #BibleLoveNotes #Bible

"Don't forget to add the love" I remind my granddaughters whenever we bake.

Usually they add it by stirring the dough with special effort or sprinkling in an imaginary ingredient.

Everything we do in life needs this added ingredient, whether a routine daily task or a special celebration. Even when we have the hard tasks of punishing a child or working through a disagreement with a friend or relative, we need to add the love.

Love doesn’t mean accepting inappropriate behavior or speaking only positive things, but it does mean that even the hard things are done with wisdom and care.

So whatever you’re "baking" today, don’t forget to add the love. Jesus says it's the first and second most important ingredients in life (Matthew 22:36-40).

  2. A wonderful reminder, Gail.. It's something I have to remember to do myself, as I don't particularly enjoy cooking. Blessings!

    1. It's kind of sweet because we've been doing this long enough that if I forget to remind my granddaughters to put in the love, they remind me! : )

I hope that today's note finds you mended from last week's fall - you've been in my prayers all week!

Have a refreshing weekend, dear friend!

  4. I love baking with my grands, too. I'll remember to have them "add the love" next time...and practice doing it in all I do.

  7. This is beautiful Gail- so often we forget to add that ingredient, sometimes because we're not used to putting it in!
